STEPH CURRY IS NOT THE BIGGEST OR FASTEST PLAYER IN THE NBA. HE’S JUST ARGUABLY THE MOST POPULAR.

Man Of The People

JUST BY LOOKING AT HIM, THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS’ STEPH CURRY ISN’T YOUR TYPICAL NBA SUPERSTAR.

He’s not particularly tall. He’s not blazingly fast. He doesn’t have bulging muscles, a body builder's physique or the wingspan of Manute Bol.

In fact, Curry, who stands 6-foot, 3-inches tall and weighs a svelte 190 pounds, looks like your Average Joe citizen. He’s the sales guy down the hall or your kid’s seventh-grade math teacher or the family man who sits in a pew in front of you at church.

Curry is relatable, and he’s likeable. Big smile. Easy-going nature. Calm under pressure. Husband. Father. Great teammate. Cordial to the press. Treats others with respect.

In sports terms, that’s called being the total package. You never hear the terms “head case” or “locker-room cancer” when NBA pundits talk about Curry. He is, by all accounts, a great competitor, but also a gentleman.

Notice anything yet? Up to this point, we have yet to discuss the fact that Curry might be the game’s greatest shooter, ever. He’s incredibly deadly from 3-point range, he’s a pinpoint passer and clutch under pressure. Oh yes, he’s also a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player and three-time champion.

Put it all together and Curry is one of the game’s brightest stars. Moms, dads, kids, grandmas, and grandpas all love Steph Curry. Fans pack arenas to watch him work his magic. They also buy his jersey. According to the NBA, Curry has the second most popular jersey in sales in 2019 next to Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James.

Fans around the world love to watch Curry play basketball. He’s not just revered in the USA. It’s a global love affair.
