As we get caught up in the consumerism of a typical Christ-mas, or the dilemma of how to celebrate it during a pandemic, prayer is so important.
Prayer based around Bible passages can help us remember why we celebrate Christmas – how much God loves us and how willing he was to demonstrate his love in an incredible way.
Prayer can also help us focus on the wonder of Emmanuel in a world which feels so limited and restricted right now. Let’s be honest though. Prayer isn’t always easy. So how can you pray in a focused, regular and fun way this Christmas?

Days 1-3
Read: Isaiah 9:2-7
Day 1
Up: Thanksgiving Compile a list of things you are thankful for. Let it inspire you to give God thanks – from simple thanks for the blessing of another day to gratitude for answered prayer.
Day 2
In: Reflect Take time to reflect on your relationship with Jesus in light of these words from Isaiah. Do you need God to act as a counsellor or bring peace? Perhaps you need God the Father to embrace you with his love?
Day 3
Out: Light Who do you know who needs light in a dark situation? Pray for them. Invite the Holy Spirit to lead you as you pray on their behalf. May they experience the light of Christ shining in their darkness.
