But these options need to be wrapped in fun, interesting or innovative ways. This was indeed practically demonstrated at Stockholm, a subway station in Sweden.
Aim of the experiment: To find whether people would opt for staircase instead of escalators, so that they can adopt a healthy way of moving up and down the station.
Methodology: Volkswagen simply replaced the simple built staircase by setting up musical piano steps. And that's it! The mundane activity of walking up and down the stairs became a fun activity of playing piano with steps.
Result: It was found that the day saw 66% more people taking stairs rather than escalators. An interesting way of transformation depicting that we humans are fond of fun and activities that add joy to our lives! Well, if these attachments are added to our daily-life monotonous activities, then, we can guarantee for ourselves a healthy living!
Are we observant in the world? This real life experiment says we are not.
