Nine years, two console generations, and 160 million retailed copies after launch Grand Theft Auto V still puts in regular appearances in the weekly videogame sales charts. So while there’s undoubtedly an appetite for the series’ sixth instalment, can you really blame Rockstar for continuing to embellish its 2013 megahit with new content, updates, and now a visual facelift for PS5?

Admittedly, this remaster, which you’ll have to pay for even if you own GTA V on PS4, isn’t as attractive a proposition as the last one. Whereas the PS4 rerelease featured a groundbreaking first-person perspective, its PS5 equivalent instead focuses on smaller, more customisable enhancements that will probably satisfy loyal devotees but fail to win over those looking for a truly compelling reason to return to Los Santos.
