There’s perhaps 1/5th of a cult hit in Postbird in Provence, a game about delivering mail around a picturesque French village. Despite being a bird – creatures that notably have wings – you deliver packages by bicycle, pootling through the narrow streets, skidding around corners and hurtling up ramps like Evel Kn’eagle, and fingers crossed I get away with that terrible pun.
I say ‘1/5th’ because, like so many free games, Postbird is very short. Just as I was finishing what I thought was the tutorial – consisting of just a few deliveries to a clutch of villagers – the game unexpectedly wrapped up. Thankfully, you can load your save file and continue exploring, and you should, because it’s like being on holiday.
