Aristocratic investigation won’t leave you feeling Downton stabby
Too many narrative games offer you weighty choices only to wrestle the story away from you, feeling little more than a glorified DVD scene select screen in the end. So when a title tries to return agency to the player and elevate the illusion of choice past obvious smoke and mirrors, it’s difficult not to take notice.
In this series opener Louis de Richet has been invited, among a number of highly prestigious guests, to the island home of Lord Mortimer. His mother, a woman respected and feared in equal measure, went on before him and has since disappeared. Each guest has something to hide from Louis and it’s your job to force each one to give up their secrets.
