It’s squeaky shoe time for racquet fans
There was a time when most summers you’d get a minor league tussle between Virtua Tennis and 2K’s Top Spin, the PES and FIFA of the tennis sim world. While those heady days of tea on the virtual lawns are long gone, one publisher, Bigben Interactive, is taking a swing at the genre all by itself. And it could serve up an ace.
It must be said, however, that Bigben’s lob to win over tennis fans doesn’t feel like much of a gamble given it’s hired the devs behind Top Spin to create Tennis World Tour. It’s even set up a tennis-themed studio, Breakpoint, just to deliver the best version of the sport on console.
Feeling like game, set, and match the moment you see Tennis World Tour in action – it’s Top Spin 5 in all but name – there’s little doubt fans of the sport will enjoy this new contender.
