Kaushal started photography in 2013 as a hobby while working with HDFC home loans. He says, “In 2015, I quit my job to pursue a career in photography and started my company – Pixelmonks, which is a wedding venture. My accolades in photography include being featured in National Geographic photo story ‘Kumaon in frame’ and 35 awards. I was also a winner at the Uttarkashi Unveil Photography contest and have been a 3 year Runner-up in Naini Photo Fest in Nainital. I have worked for a US based NGO – Yours Humanly, for their photography projects in India.”
How did you venture into photography? How would you best describe the work that you do?
As cliché as it sounds, I ventured into wedding photography to capture and freeze moments of love forever. As far as travel photography is concerned, I do it for myself and my love for landscape, culture and nature.
What has been your most rewarding experience as a travel photographer?
The fact that I get to explore different cultures, which eventually helps me understand and respect the society is the most rewarding aspect for me. For instance, there have been times when I have had authentic food with the locals in their houses and spoken to their families. All of these experiences have been extremely rewarding for me.
