Free your camera from your hands and get it down low for a fresh approach to wildlife photography – James Paterson is your safari guide
A safari trip is a wildlife photographer’s dream come true, but one of the things you hear time and again is that the animals are always looked down on from above. This is because it’s usually forbidden to exit the vehicle – a sound rule when there are lions, elephants and hippos around! But as such, the angle of view is limited.
However, thanks to new camera tech there’s a way to find a fresh angle on safari photography – or, for that matter, any shoot in which you need to get your camera into a position where you can’t possibly follow. Thanks to Wi-Fi, we can link our Canon DSLR to our smartphone, then use the Canon Camera Connect app to control the camera.
