PHOTOGRAPHY OFFERS ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE IN THE WORLD WHILE I ALSO FLOATING OUTSIDE IT. WHEN I AM IMMERSED IN MAKING CANDID PHOTOGRAPHS, I SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY MOMENTS THAT I WOULD OTHERWISE MISS." - REBECCA ROTHEY

SMALL INTIMATE MOMENTS
Photography offers the opportunity to fully immerse myself in the world around me. When I am making photographs, I slow down and observe moments that I would otherwise miss. Time stops, my mind frees while my eyes roam, and my finger clicks as if on impulse. Working in black and white removes distractions and allows me to focus on the emotion and geometry of a scene. I enjoy making images with people I don't know, creating momentary connections with them. There is a unique intimacy in those shared moments.
