It has been just over two years since I first picked up a camera. I have always enjoyed nature and being surrounded by beautiful landscapes, and wanted a new way to experience being out in the countryside. So for my 30th birthday I asked for my first-ever DSLR camera (a Canon EOS 1300D) to start capturing the places I visited, hoping to share their beauty and teach myself some new skills.
I began going out locally to understand the fundamentals of photography – but it was after a visit to the Peak District, where I experienced my first cloud inversion and felt the peace of an early-morning sunrise, that I realised this was going to be more than a hobby. It had almost instantly become my lifelong passion.
