Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Thursday submitted before the Bombay high court that it was prepared to reconsider its stand and take an appropriate decision on appointment of a Director General of Police (DGP) by February 21.
“The appropriate department said it is prepared to reconsider its position in view of the various submissions advanced by parties in court,” said Advocate General Ashutosh Kumbhakoni to a bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice M S Karnik, which then concluded a detailed and, at times, heated hearing in a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by a city advocate, Datta Mane.
