Lucknow: Two aspirants from a single party seeking to contest the same seat is not new, but what if they happen to be husband and wife?

BJP finds itself in a tricky situation in Lucknow’s Sarojininagar assembly seat where both UP minister Swati Singh and her husband Daya Shankar Singh, the state BJP vicepresident, have staked claim. Swati won Sarojininagar in 2017, just after joining BJP in 2016, when BSP leaders used unsavoury comments against her and her daughter.
