Arindam Mukherjee*, a Kolkata-based IT professional, has been working fromJagatsukh village in Himachal Pradesh for the past two months.“My friends say I have low altitude sickness because I can’t stay away from the hills for too long. So, when it was safe to travel, I booked this place. I’ve been trekking regularly and experiencing complete peace of mind,” he says.

Arindam is just one member of a growing tribe of professionals who are leaving behind polluted and noisy cities and heading to the hills and mountains to work remotely. The work from hills culture is giving these professionals a chance to enjoy an extended low-stress holiday, though not without its share of professional hazards.
