‘This Milan reminds me of the Milan of Berlusconi's era'

However, the current hot streak that has seen Zlatan Ibrahimovic & Co. rise to the top of the Serie A standings after eight rounds has fuelled a belief in Massaro that Milan may once again be on the path to greatness.

“Today there is a good atmosphere at AC Milan,” Massaro, a brand ambassador for Milan since 2017, told TOI in an email interaction. “It looks very much like the first AC Milan of (Silvio) Berlusconi’s era where there was a very clear mission. I believe we are on the right track. Although it’s difficult to make comparisons, it seems we are re-living the same atmosphere and the club of the period when I was playing.”
