Rigging up meals every day is a common struggle, particularly for busy professionals like Yatin Varachhia who says he and his wife were fed up of juggling work, commutes and cooking. “Once my wife started working after completing her MBA, we started facing challenges when it came to food. With our commutes in Bengaluru traffic taking up so much time, we had to rely on ordering in,” he says. But the Gujarati couple settled in Bengaluru didn’t much care for other people’s cooking. That’s when Varachhia, 34, and his friends came up with Nosh — an automated cooking device that uses AI to make food. All consumers have to do is put raw ingredients in the machine that looks disappointingly like a microwave but can churn out 120 recipes including kadhai paneer, upma and Goan fish curry. Just put in the chopped-up veggies or meats and wait for the magic to happen. “Anything that requires skill has been automated,” he laughs.
