State cabinet minister and Congress MLA Aslam Shaikh inaugurated the revamped ground in Malwani with a gymnasium and badminton and volleyball courts as the Tipu Sultan Sports Complex on Wednesday. The project was executed using his MLA funds. Shaikh told TOI that the ground has been referred to as Shaheed Tipu Sultan Playground since many years. He showed documents of the state government and MMRDA which refer to it as “Shaheed Tipu Sultan Playground”.
