Man in US watches Kanpur home being burgled, alerts cops

Technology saved a house from being burgled when a resident of Kanpur, who was in New Jersey, United States, informed the local police in the Uttar Pradesh city after watching a live CCTV footage of burglars breaking into his residence in Shyamnagar area of Kanpur on Monday night. Vijay Awasthi, a software engineer received an alert on his mobile phone. The signal was from the sensors he had installed at his ancestral house in D block of Shyamnagar.

When he checked the footage, Vijay was shocked to find intruders inside his house, named “Harihar Dham”. “ Vijay used the mic option to warn the intruders. But his warning had no impact on them. Instead, they broke the CCTV camera,” police said.
