"In the past two years as well, many of my patients got Covid re-infections. Some got Covid three times-once during each of the waves," said Dr. Gautam Bhansali, a consultant with Bombay Hospital who is the Covid coordinator between private hospitals and the BMC.
Given the present increase in Covid cases in Maharashtra and Mumbai, doctors said it's time to get used to the idea that "Covid surges" would occur multiple times a year. Also, people could suffer infections multiple times as a result, despite getting vaccinated.
