10 months on, BMC to check if Mithi silt pushers work

Mumbai: A day after TOI reported that 10 months after they were bought and after releasing close to Rs 50 crore to contractors, the BMC was now checking if the imported silt pushers and pontoon excavators deployed to de-silt Mithi river actually work, Mayor Kishori Pednekar conducted a site inspection of the desilting works.

Pednekar, along with the Storm Water Drain (SWD) department officials, on Friday visited the Mithi river, where the machines are deployed, and reviewed the desilting works.
