Iyer’s Ton, Skipper’s Return Put Pressure On Rahane, Pujara

Shreyas Iyer’s successful debut in Kanpur and Virat Kohli’s subsequent return to the team has only triggered a raging debate over who should face the axe for the second Test against New Zealand at Wankhede.

Iyer rescued India in both innings of the first Test, scoring 105 and 65, and his arrival has only put more pressure on the underachieving middle-order duo of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara.

It’ll not be an easy call to make for Kohli and new coach Rahul Dravid as they will have to factor in not only the Test but even the forthcoming tour of South Africa.
