New Delhi: The National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) is learnt to be against the government’s move to include transgenders in the central list of OBCs, with a majority of its members opining that the proposal goes beyond the accepted principle of classification of Mandal castes. The government proposal will enable transgenders to avail the 27% Mandal reservation benefits in jobs and education.
