Hyderabad: As part of his efforts to ratchet up a non-BJP federal front, chief minister and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday met BJP MP Subramanian Swamy and farmers’ union leader Rakesh Tikait in Delhi.
Sources said KCR reportedly explained to Swamy on the need for a formidable alternative at the national level. This meeting assumed significance in the wake of KCR’s earlier meetings with election strategist Prashant Kishor, Shiv Sena president and Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and NCP president Sharad Pawar.
The CM received Swamy at his residence and had lunch with him and Tikait. Sources in the TRS said the CM also sought the BJP Rajya Sabha MP’s suggestions on his new front and sought his help.
