How WFH affected women

As the world gets ready to move ahead and leave the pandemic behind, one thing is clear – our world will never be the same again, and work from home will not disappear anytime soon. The hybrid work culture has already overstretched the working woman, leading to physical and mental burnout. But lessons learnt will not be forgotten soon. We take a look:

IMBALANCE IN DOMESTIC RESPONSIBILITIES

According to a survey conducted by Deloitte, 65% of the respondents now have more responsibility with regard to household chores. Furthermore, one-third said their workloads have increased due to the pandemic. For households with children, 58% of those with children reported added childcare responsibilities. And around 53% of those with children reported homeschooling/ education responsibilities. Another study on the impact of the pandemic on working women in India showed that around 54.2% of the respondents reported that much of their time goes into cooking, apart from family time spent chatting, playing games, watching TV together, etc.
