Centre Asks Bengal Govt To Ensure Strict Covid-Safe Behaviour

In the wake of increasing number of Covid cases in West Bengal, particularly in Kolkata, following Durga Puja celebrations, the Centre has asked the state to ensure strict adherence to Covid-safe behaviour and expedite second dose coverage.

In a letter to the state, health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said if the situation continues to remain unchecked, it may severely strain health infrastructure and workforce. The Centre has also asked the West Bengal government to immediately review the spurt in Covid-19 cases and deaths.
