Kejriwal Hails It As Beginning Of New Era; First Induction In 10 Years For DTC
New Delhi: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal flagged off the city’s first electric bus on Monday. It also became the first new bus to be added to Delhi Transport Corporation’s fleet in over a decade. The city is expected to get 50 more e-buses by next month and a total of 300 by April.

“The state’s first electric bus marks the beginning of a new era in the transport sector of Delhi,” Kejriwal said, after flagging off the bus from DTC’s Indraprastha depot. “This is a very important step in combating the problem of pollution. This is a zero-emission bus and it barely makes a noise.” The CM added that whenever older buses were phased out now, they would be replaced by electric buses.
