New Delhi: Dussehra this year was different. The most iconic event of the day, the burning of the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath, was either not done, or when done was accompanied by a compromise on the traditional rat-a-tat of firecrackers. But all the warnings went unheard with social distancing completely ignored at the various Ramlilas as were the instructions to wear face masks.
