Kejriwal: People of Punjab will decide AAP's CM face
The Times of India Delhi|January 14, 2022
In a first by any party, Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP on Thursday took recourse to the political equivalent of a reality-show staple by setting up a dedicated dialin to seek feedback from people on who should be its CM candidate in Punjab.

Chandigarh: The Delhi CM said the phone number 7074870748 would be the interface for the party’s “Janata chunegi apna CM” drive, enabling callers to give their suggestions till 5pm on January 17.

“I asked Bhagwant Mann, should we declare your name? But he said, ‘We should ask the public, sir. I will take up the responsibility that people decide for me’. Bhagwant is very dear to us; he is like my younger brother. He is the tallest leader of AAP. Otherwise, it is seen that other parties pick their kin as CM contender,” Kejriwal told the media, a day after declaring he would announce the CM face next week.

The AAP chief said Sangrur MP Mann would himself “invite” the person picked by the public, hastening to add that he himself was not in the race for that post.
