Dip in Covid testing rates worries Centre

Up Tests To Not Miss Cases, 11 States & 2 UTs Told

The Centre has raised concern over decline in weekly Covid-19 testing rates and directed 11 states and two Union Territories to increase the number of tests to avoid missing any infections.

“While there has been a significant decline in the new cases with 10,195 average daily cases reported in the week ending November 22, it has been observed that there has also been a decline in weekly testing rates,” health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said in a letter to these states and UTs.
