People celebrating seeing family and friends for the first time in months tomorrow have been given a word to the wise by one of the biggest party animals of all.
Happy Mondays star Bez, the band’s maracas-shaking dancer, told the Sunday Mirror: “Tomorrow can’t come soon enough for me.
“We’ll be having the best parties ever. Have fun – but be SAFE.”
Bez, 56, vowed to meet up with his band pal Shaun Ryder and enjoy “a few glasses of Irish whiskey”.
He captured the mood of a nation desperate to be unleashed for social gatherings – but equally concerned about keeping a lid on Covid-19.
With temperatures up to 25C, beaches and parks are expected to be busier than at any time since lockdown was introduced 69 days ago.
People will be able to gather outside in groups of up to six, while still maintaining social distancing.
But some experts fear too much contact between people could trigger a second wave of coronavirus.
And a note of caution came from Prof Jonathan Van-Tam, deputy chief medical officer for England.
