In a document signed by Department of Agriculture (DA)-Bicol executive director Rodel Tornilla, it was confirmed that the swine disease was detected in hogs owned by Mayor Arturo Virtucio of Aroroy town.
The DA did not give details on the number of infected hogs.
The first ASF case in Bicol was detected in Camarines Norte in July and Albay in September. The swine disease spread to Catanduanes last December and Sorsogon last month.
