BJP sitting MP and former union minister Babul Supriyo joined the Trinamool Congress on Saturday, jolting the saffron camp ahead of the high-voltage by-election in the Bhowanipore Assembly constituency where chief minister Mamata Banerjee is contesting.

The singer-turned-two-time MP, without being spotted by anyone, turned up at the Trinamool office on and started his new political venture in the presence of TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee and Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien.
