Easier access to citizen-centric police services

IN an attempt to streamline the process of police interaction with public and to ensure greater transparency and easy accessibility, the Union Ministry of Home affairs (MHA) has asked its think tank, Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), to collate best IT practices across states and establish benchmarks for providing citizen-centric services, this newspaper has learnt.

Besides maintaining law and order, preventing crimes, police forces have several other duties too such as providing no objection and police verification certificates and many other crucial citizen centric services.
