De Kock, who announced a sudden retirement during the Test series, was in his element in the one-dayers against KL Rahul and co. His 229 runs in three games and glove work earned him the player of the series award. “(It) wasn’t flat at all (the pitch at Cape Town). (It) was a wicket where you’re never quite in, (I) came back, had a week of training in Paarl. First game - just trying to find some rhythm. Was still trying to find my feet and then in the second ODI found my rhythm,’’ said de Kock after the series win, before adding, “getting home now for some daddy duties.’’
