State leaders in Delhi to finalise candidates for Assembly polls, brainstorming over person to take on CM Mamata

With a bagful of 10,000 applications received in drop boxes along with recommendations from district functionaries, BJP’S West Bengal leadership reached Delhi on Thursday to finalise the list of candidates to take on the ruling Trinamool Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections.

‘’We wanted to know who are among our supporters to contest the elections. We placed three drop boxes, from which we received 10,000 applicants. Besides, our district functionaries gave a list of 120 candidates to contest in the first two phases,’’ said a BJP leader. Bengal has 294 Assembly seats.
