AFTER becoming India’s first track and field athlete to medal at the Olympics, let alone that it was gold, javelin ace Neeraj Chopra ate everything he could lay his hands on.

The result? The 24-year-old from Haryana gained around 12-13 kgs. Back to training after a long gap following the Olympic high, Neeraj has cut down a little more than five kgs in the past 22 days.

“I ate everything I wanted to after I came back from the Olympics, I did not hold back because I was controlling for so long. I had gained close to 12-13 kgs. I’ve been training for about 22 days now and have cut down 5.5 kgs so far and now my weight is close to the off-season weight,” said the Olympic champion during a virtual interaction on Thursday.
