At same programme, Rajasthan CM says atmosphere of violence in country

PRIME MINISTER Narendra Modi Thursday flagged “attempts to tarnish” India's image and said giving precedence to rights and "completely forgetting" about duties ever since Independence had left the country weak.

At the same programme – the virtual national launch ceremony of ‘Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav se Swarnim Bharat Ke Ore' – Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot told the Prime Minister that peace and brotherhood are the most pressing needs of the day as there is an atmosphere of violence in the country.

Prime Minister Modi also virtually launched seven initiatives dedicated to Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by the spiritual organisation Brahma Kumaris.

Delivering the keynote address, Modi said there is a tendency to tarnish the image of India, including at the international level.
