Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said India would put to use its share of water from the rivers flowing to Pakistan and ensure that every single drop was used for the country’s farmers. The work on this had started, he added.
Mr. Modi, who was addressing an election rally at Charkhi Dadri in Haryana, said the river water that rightfully belonged to India had been flowing to Pakistan for the last 70 years. It would not happen any more.
‘Gone for 70 years’
“For the last 70 years, the water that belonged to India and farmers of Haryana were going to Pakistan. Modi will stop it and bring it to your households,” he said.
