Two men did not stop, and police pursued the car - which locals say they heard - until it went off the road in Ernesettle.
After leaving the road, it smashed into the bay windows of the mother of local resident Paul Preston.
Police arrested two men, aged and 18, on suspicion of being unfit through drink or drugs, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
