RUGBY GROUND TO HOST FULL DAY OF WALK-IN SHOTS
ALEX GREEN

ANYONE who needs a Covid-19 jab, whether it be the first, second or booster dose, is being urged to head to the vaccination centre at Brickfields this Sunday as the site hosts a full day of walk-in shots.

The vaccination team at Brickfields – the home of Plymouth Albion RFC – are hoping to get 2,000 jabs in arms during what is being dubbed ‘Super Sunday’.

Alex James, pharmacist clinical lead at the centre – which is operated by Poolearth Limited – said it had been relatively quiet recently, with up to 15 per cent of people booked in for appointments not showing up.

The day of walk-in jabs aims to boost the uptake.

Figures for the city indicate that 84.1 per cent of those aged 12 and over have had one vaccine dose, with 77.6 per cent a second dose and 52 per cent a third dose.

But those figures are below the national average for England and the worst of any of the 10 local authority areas in Devon.
