Lights are back after complaints

PLYMOUTH’S Christmas lights have been put up again after members of the public complained they were not “Christmassy” enough.

Last week saw the spectacular switch-on of the lights which, according to the Plymouth City Centre Company, was watched by a record crowd.

Even Santa Claus was there, but that wasn’t enough to satisfy some in attendance, who were left unimpressed.

Now, the company’s chief executive, Steve Hughes, has announced that trees in the city centre have been re-dressed.

He took to Twitter to update people after the organisers received feedback following the switch-on event which, at the time, he described as a “huge success”

In his tweet, he said: “We have redressed the trees on the Piazza in Plymouth city centre following feedback from visitors and look forward to the opening of the Christmas market next Thursday.”
