MANAGER EXPLAINS DECISION TO WITHDRAW MAYOR AT HALF-TIME

RYAN Lowe thought he did the right thing by taking off Plymouth Argyle midfielder Danny Mayor at half-time in the 3-1 Papa John’s Trophy defeat by Swindon Town at Home Park.

Mayor was playing for only the second time since returning to action after a two-month absence due to a thigh injury.

The talented 30-year-old had been used by Lowe as a late substitute in the 2-1 home League One win against Burton Albion on Saturday.
