Drag Queen Set To Stage Cabarets For Native Ukraine

A POPULAR drag-artist who was born in Ukraine but now lives in Plymouth is hosting a series of cabaret shows to help ongoing humanitarian efforts in his home country after it was invaded by Russia.

Vit Rok, aged 26, has become one of the city's biggest queer nightlife personalities and holds a residency at Plymouth's sole gay club, OMG, hosting shows every Sunday as part of the cabaret night which sees drag artists from all over the UK performing.

He moved to the UK when he was just 14, initially living in Taunton where he went to school and took his GCSEs while still learning English. He then went on to live in Exeter, where his mum still lives, before he headed to Plymouth to study theatre and performing arts at the University of Plymouth.

Vit said he "fell in love" with Plymouth and decided to stay, adding: “I remember thinking after I finished my degree: 'you know what? This is going to be my home!" He works at OMG as a bartender as well as being the resident drag artist, while in whatever spare time he has left he does theatre work.
