ANOTHER six people have died from Covid-19 at Plymouth’s Derriford Hosptial.
Figures released by NHS England confirmed the deaths happened on the following dates: November 27 and 28, December 18, two on December 19 and one on December 20.
It means a total of 324 patients have died from coronavirus at Derriford, and 984 across all of Devon’s hospitals since the start of the pandemic. It comes as nearly 2,000 cases were confirmed in the city in the last week.
In the past seven days, 1,944 new infections were recorded, with Plymouth’s case rate currently at 739.6 per 100,000, which is higher than the South West average of 648.3 but lower than the England average of 893.5. As of December 14, there were 56 patients with Covid-19 at Derriford Hospital.
