THERE is a ‘very high level of occupancy’ at Derriford Hospital, exacerbated further by an increasing number of Covid-19 patients being admitted, University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust has confirmed.
It comes as pressure on the Emergency Department persists at Derriford, with queues of ambulances being reported outside the hospital regularly.
One concerned local woman reported that her father had been in an ambulance on the forecourt at Derriford’s A&E department last Thursday night, in a queue of 15 ambulances also waiting to hand over their patients.
