PLYMOUTH has been ranked among the most dangerous cities in the UK for cyclists, with 288 accidents involving cyclists in the last five years.
According to the website CrashMap, which uses Department for Transport (DfT) data to highlight the areas with the highest number of cycling collisions, Plymouth is one of the risky places in England.
According to the latest data requested from the DfT, there were 16,455 reported casualties involving pedal cyclists across Great Britain in 2020, with 288 of those in the Ocean City.
The A386 along Outland Road is the most common location of fatal cycling accidents in the city, while Martin Street roundabout is the most common location of serious accidents in the city, according to a new study from personal injury experts Boyes Turner Claims.
Outland Road has had two cyclists killed in the last five years, while Martin Street roundabout is the most common location of serious accidents for cyclists in the city, with 71 such incidents occurring on this road since 2016.
