Council says yes to eco-homes on green-field site

NET-ZERO AIM FOR KING'S TAMERTON SITE

PLANS for 70 affordable net-zero energy homes on a green-field site in Plymouth have been approved.

Plymouth City Council's planning committee overwhelmingly backed PEC Homes scheme for the site for Coombe Way at King's Tamerton.

The outline applications for 70 homes would be spread across two phases. Phase One would deliver 40 dwellings and Phase Two would deliver the remaining 30 dwellings. The land is allocated for 40 homes as part of the Joint Local Plan, but councillors were told that the scheme had been increased as a result of more one and two-bedroom flats being provided than had initially been envisaged.
