Serial rapist could go free

ONE of Britain’s worst serial rapists could walk free in days.

Nightclub DJ Richard Baker got four life sentences for 13 attacks in 1999 but police believe he could have raped more than 100 women.

The judge who jailed him said he was “truly depraved” and “a formidable danger to women”.

In 2016 Baker had six years added to his stretch when he was caught downloading child abuse images on a smuggled tablet in a psychiatric unit.

The judge in that case told him he would be a “very old man” if he was ever released, saying: “You are obsessed with sex and your interest now has moved to children. I do not think this man has learnt a single thing during his time in prison.”

But Baker, now 56, has been granted a parole hearing and will learn in the next week if his bid is successful.
