THOUSANDS of overjoyed Brits were celebrating in Portugal last night after Chelsea lifted the Champions League trophy.
They beat Premier League rivals Manchester City in a thrilling all-English final in front of 16,000 fans after pandemic restrictions were eased.
Thousands who couldn’t get tickets for the Estadio do Drago watched in fan zones around Porto, where there was a party atmosphere all day.
Before kick-off they supped beers for as little as 1.15 euros a pop and basked in sweltering 27C sunshine at bars on the banks of the Douro.
Chelsea supporter Chris Roberts, 58, from Croydon, south London said: “What a win, what a day. Just fantastic. This is a very special day and we have now won the European Cup twice – no other club in London has ever won it even once.”
