CELEBRITY baker Nadiya Hussain is fronting a campaign to reduce the food wasted in homes across Britain – which is contributing to climate change.

Households are responsible for around 70 per cent of the 9.5 million tonnes of food thrown into bins each year in this country, costing £14billion.

About 4.5 million of the 6.6 million tonnes of food wasted in homes could have been eaten, working out at around eight meals a week per household.
